Prayer is simply talking to God. We all know that communication is a very vital part of any relationship. One easy and effective way of journaling your prayer is using the ACTS Method.
This is one of the most practiced methods most of the people use to journal their prayers. It can help you compile your thoughts and express yourself to God.
A - Adoration
First thing you can learn is how to praise and adore God for who He is. List God’s attributes especially the attributes that are significant to you this season.
Example: If you are asking for a financial wellness, remember that God is your great provider.
“You are my great provider, You know my needs even before I say it.”
C - Confession
We are sinners saved by His grace. We are still in flesh and sinning is really hard to avoid. But God knows it all and all you have to do is repent and confess that you have sinned against Him. He will make a way out and give you the strength to forgive yourself and be transformed to be more like Christ. Be as specific as you can.
“Sorry Lord for the things I have done that is not pleasing to you. especially the times when I was in the midst of the storm of work, finances and relationship. I felt that you have left me when I need you the most. But I know that it is not true, for you are always here with me. Sorry for questioning your purpose and plans you have for me. I just felt that my life was a mess not knowing that you have a greater purpose for that pain."
T - Thanksgiving
Thanking God is not enough for all the blessings He has given us. But at least in just one moment of your day you got to thank the One who blesses you more than you deserve.
“Thank You, Lord, for the life you have given me. The family and the friends that you gave. They help me become a better person.”
S - Supplication
In this part, you will intimately ask God your desires. You will voice out what you need, what you want, your thoughts, everything! This is a time for you to express your innermost feeling to Him with confidence.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” - 1 John 5:14
I may not the best. I’m all messed up. May I ask for your comfort and love. I feel that in this battle, I am alone. But please remind me that you are always there and you won’t ever leave me, ever. Thank You, God. Amen. ”
